In Hoei 1st year (1704), Omi merchants from Shiga prefecture started a sake brewing business in Yabuzukahon-machi, Nitta District (present-day Ota City), Gunma prefecture, and around 1st year of Horeki (1751), they started brewing shoyu and miso.
In Taisho 12th year (1923), considering the geographical potential, they expanded their business into the current Shinmachi area, building a shoyu factory. In Showa 23rd year (1948), we entered the Tokyo market.
In Showa 34th year (1959), as a top company in the industry, starting with the soup base “Umashiro” we began the manufacturing and selling of food seasonings and then continued to develop and manufacture various liquid and powder seasonings.
